About the Role
This virtual Special Education Teacher position supports K–12 students across Kansas through remote instruction and IEP-based services. The role focuses on delivering specially designed instruction, managing compliance requirements, and collaborating with school teams to help students meet academic and behavioral goals in a virtual learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual special education instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Collect and analyze student progress data to guide instructional decisions
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support accommodations, modifications, and individualized learning plans
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Active Kansas Special Education teaching certification
- School-based special education experience preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements
- Experience providing virtual or remote instruction preferred
- Teaching certification may be required depending on district.
