With two positions available—one at the elementary level in a self-contained autism classroom and one at the middle school level covering ASD Level 1 or Adaptive needs—this role is ideal for educators passionate about making a difference in diverse learning communities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Georgia Special Education certification with appropriate endorsements (ADAPTIVE SPED CERT or SPED GENERAL CURRICULUM CERT as applicable)
- Experience working with students with autism, adaptive/mild intellectual, or multiple disabilities strongly preferred
- Ability to manage and inspire students with high physical and academic needs in a self-contained setting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
- Reliable availability for onsite work (virtual options not offered for this position)
- Commitment to the full school year (07.27.2026 - 05.21.2027), 37.5 hours per week
Position Duties:
- Design and implement individualized educational programs in a self-contained classroom
- Deliver specialized academic and adaptive instruction for students with significant needs
- Monitor and document student progress on IEP goals and objectives
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support best possible student outcomes
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere attentive to safety and wellbeing
