Special Education Teacher in Joliet, IL

- Experience in self-contained classrooms or specialized educational settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to adapt strategies to individual student needs and foster positive relationships
- Commitment to student growth and a welcoming learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collaborating closely with families and school support staff
- Utilize multi-sensory and evidence-based teaching practices
- Create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
- Track and report student progress, making timely adjustments to plans as needed
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with colleagues
