With caseloads ranging from 8-18 students, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections and foster diverse learning needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Kansas teaching license in Special Education (must provide upon hire)
- Experience in resource and/or self-contained special education classrooms
- Knowledge of a range of instructional strategies for students with varied abilities
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners
- Adaptability and strong classroom management
- Previous experience with life skills, autism, behavioral support, or medically fragile populations a plus
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to promote student progress
- Adapt curriculum and instructional approaches to meet each student’s strengths and needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, administrators, and families
- Collect data on student performance and update progress regularly
- Create an inclusive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Support personal care needs as appropriate to setting
