Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Low Incidence Special Education license for grades 6-12
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in secondary settings preferred
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working alongside general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering an adaptive and positive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support to students with significant needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities
- Collect data, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in alignment with district and state requirements
- Partner with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated services
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and relevant school activities
This position offers 37.5 hours per week, with onsite work preferred to best support the school community and students. Specific caseload details will be discussed during the interview process to help you understand your day-to-day role and the students you’ll support.
