As the lead educator, you’ll create and implement evidence-based programming tailored to elevate students’ academic performance, communication, motor, and social skills. You’ll also work alongside paraprofessional staff, ensuring all students receive the individual support necessary to help them thrive.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for elementary level
- Demonstrated expertise in autism education strategies as an Autism Specialist or comparable experience
- Experience developing and modifying IEPs to suit individualized needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families
- Proficiency applying current research and best practices for ASD instruction
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans customized for students with ASD
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports academic and personal growth
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to enhance classroom management and student learning outcomes
- Regularly assess student progress and adapt instruction as needed
- Coordinate with families, staff, and service providers to ensure continuity of care
