Key Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching credential recognized in California
- Experience working with students of varying disabilities, including mild/moderate and/or moderate/severe
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Classroom management expertise and a compassionate, patient approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) in alignment with state standards and student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust instructional plans as needed
- Provide direct instruction, behavioral support, and modifications to ensure all students thrive
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth, achievements, and challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development activities
