Key Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working in a self-contained classroom highly preferred
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong skills in differentiated instruction, classroom management, and collaboration with related service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in all students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instruct students within a self-contained classroom, addressing a range of academic and behavioral needs
- Develop and monitor individualized goals and accommodations in accordance with IEPs
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and adaptive curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Track student progress, complete documentation, and collaborate with support staff and classroom aides
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
