What you bring:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Endorsement or experience working with students with severe disabilities, preferably at the middle school level
- Proven skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies for self-contained classrooms
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and a student-centered approach
- Ability to work onsite for the full assignment dates (remote or virtual work is not available in this position)
What you’ll do:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ individual learning needs
- Manage a self-contained classroom focused on students with more significant support requirements
- Monitor progress, adapting strategies to help students achieve outlined IEP goals
- Collaborate with related service providers, general educators, and families
- Track and report student data, maintain IEP documentation, and participate in meetings as needed
