We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teacher for a full-time, temporary assignment at a Transition School in Lincoln Park, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a special education professional who is passionate about supporting students with autism through individualized instruction and evidence-based practices.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Develop and implement individualized educational programming aligned with students' IEPs.
- Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to promote student success.
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification with appropriate endorsement for Autism Spectrum Disorder (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience working with students with ASD is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, positive behavior supports, and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
