Special Education Teacher - Littleton, Colorado
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with Affective Needs at the elementary level, right in the heart of the North Denver area. The assignment starts immediately and runs through October 2nd, with a consistent 37.5-hour work week at a single elementary location.
Your passion for guiding students with special needs will shine as you tailor interventions, adapt curriculum, and work closely with a dedicated team of educators and support staff. You’ll play a key role in helping young learners reach their goals both academically and personally.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21)
- Experience working with affective needs or similar student populations in a school setting
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Prompt completion and return of district contractor credentialing packet
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students ages 5-11 with affective needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Provide targeted instruction and behavioral interventions in an inclusive and supportive environment
- Maintain detailed records and follow all state and district guidelines for special education
