Special Education Teacher | Llano, California

Located near Lancaster, CA, these roles are designed to support students in Special Day Classes (SDC) for the upcoming 26/27 school year.
You’ll have the chance to work with either 4th-6th grade or 7th-8th grade students with moderate/mild learning needs, collaborating with a strong team of educators and specialists to create a nurturing academic experience. Your expertise in special education will empower students to achieve their fullest potential through individualized instruction, classroom management, and advocacy.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education Teaching credential (or eligibility) in California
- Experience with moderate/mild special day classes preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, therapists, families, and staff
- Dedication to creating and adapting IEPs, lesson plans, and behavioral interventions
- Commitment to fostering a positive, structured classroom environment
- Organizational skills to manage documentation and compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Instruct and support students using evidence-based teaching strategies
- Collaborate with school teams to assess student growth and adapt programming
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and progress reviews
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation
- Build trusting relationships with students and their families
