Step into a meaningful role supporting students’ success as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. Two full-time contract openings are available: one serving middle school and one serving high school students. This position runs from August 19th to June 3rd, with hours from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
Your expertise will be vital in guiding students with special education needs, collaborating closely with colleagues and families, and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (PA SPED cert)
- Current PA state clearances
- Experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably at the middle or high school level
- Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum as needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to creating a positive, encouraging environment for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to meet individual student needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Deliver instruction that aligns with State and District standards
- Foster a classroom climate of respect, inclusion, and high expectations
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
