Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license with Cross-Categorical endorsement (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally at the elementary level
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
- Capacity to engage and inspire young learners with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in a self-contained or resource setting, creatively adapting lessons to meet a range of student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to promote an inclusive classroom climate
- Assess student progress and maintain thorough documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary team members
- Lead classroom management while supporting student social, behavioral, and academic development
- Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress and strategies
