In this contract-based opportunity, you’ll deliver targeted academic reading and math instruction in a supportive, one-on-one setting—helping the student maintain and build vital skills during the break.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Background in providing individualized instruction for students with intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of effective strategies to enhance academic reading and math skills
- Experience tailoring lesson plans according to IEPs and student needs
- Ability to foster a motivating, patient, and positive learning environment
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and related service personnel
Responsibilities:
- Conduct eight, 60-minute instructional sessions focusing on academic reading and math
- Develop engaging lesson materials that address the student’s IEP goals and support skill retention
- Continually adapt instruction to meet the evolving needs of the student
- Document progress, maintaining clear and thorough records of each session
- Provide insights and recommendations for continued learning and support
- Communicate effectively with family members and educational staff regarding progress and strategies
