Special Education Teacher in Meriden, CT

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Connecticut State certification required)
- Prior experience teaching special education at the elementary level strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction for diverse learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and school staff
- Skill in maintaining accurate records and progress reports
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to elementary students with special needs
- Develop, update, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and modify instructional methods as needed
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure student success
