Special Education Teacher in Anoka, MN

Desired qualifications and experience:
• Current Minnesota teaching license (Tier 3 or 4 required)
• Previous experience working with students exhibiting severe disabilities and behavioral needs
• Passion and resilience for working in Setting 4 environments
• Strong de-escalation, crisis management, and social-emotional learning skills
• Comfort navigating complex behavioral challenges
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and support teams
• Commitment to individualized education plans and inclusive learning practices
Key responsibilities:
• Deliver specialized instruction and implement IEP goals for students in Setting 4
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and staff to create a safe, structured classroom
• Use evidence-based strategies to address both academic and behavioral needs
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Facilitate an inclusive, supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs
• Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities
