Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents with diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management skills and familiarity with differentiated instruction
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
- Adaptability and resourcefulness in responding to unique student and classroom needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with varying disabilities, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Develop, monitor, and review IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that encourages each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth
- Track progress, maintain detailed records, and regularly communicate student performance to parents and administrators
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place
- Participate in professional development sessions to stay informed of best practices and compliance requirements
