Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Special Education Teacher to join a school district in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with school staff, families, and support service providers to develop and implement individualized educational programs that meet each student's unique needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
Provide direct special education instruction and support services to students with disabilities.
Adapt curriculum, instructional methods, and classroom materials to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
Conduct ongoing assessments and utilize data to inform instructional decisions.
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Implement classroom management and behavior intervention strategies that promote positive student outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student services, progress monitoring, and compliance requirements.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification before the start of employment.
Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedural compliance requirements.
Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and support staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Special Education or related area.
Previous school-based special education teaching experience.
Experience working with students in resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings.
Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral support strategies.
Experience serving students with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional disabilities, and intellectual disabilities.
