Special Education Teacher - Montpelier, VT

This full-time, contract position focuses on delivering expert virtual support and coordination for a caseload of 45 students across two high school grades. What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the primary remote case manager, ensuring each student receives tailored, compliant services
- Lead and coordinate IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations throughout the school year
- Develop, update, and maintain high-quality, legally compliant IEPs
- Track student progress meticulously, keeping all documentation and reports up to date
- Foster strong communication by providing weekly updates to staff and families
- Facilitate collaboration amongst teachers, providers, and administration to ensure effective support
- Review academic and behavioral data to guide IEP development and inform team decisions
- Ensure all accommodations and modifications are implemented and monitored consistently
Qualifications:
- Active Vermont Special Educator license required
- Demonstrated experience as a virtual SPED case manager with strong IEP writing abilities
- At least two supervisor references from previous remote SPED roles
- In-depth knowledge of special education law, timelines, and VT DOE SPED requirements
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a dedicated, solutions-focused mindset
