Special Education Teacher - Montpelier, VT

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Holds a valid Vermont Special Educator license
- Meets all VT DOE SPED requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a virtual special education case manager in Vermont
- Expert at writing compliant IEPs and navigating case management
- Excellent communicator with families and school teams
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities
- Confident collaborating with a focused group of teachers and service staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary case manager for 45 high school students
- Lead, organize, and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Write, revise, and monitor IEPs to ensure full compliance with state and federal requirements
- Track and report on student progress, meeting all deadlines
- Liaise weekly with staff and families to discuss student needs, progress, and concerns
- Synthesize academic and behavioral data to support IEP development and drive positive student outcomes
- Ensure accommodations and modifications are properly implemented and maintained
This position requires full-time availability (37.5 hours/week) during the school year calendar. Submit two supervisor references specifically from previous virtual special education roles in Vermont during your application.
