Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification for the state of Illinois
- Experience working in a self-contained classroom or similar specialized instructional environment
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
- Passion for working with elementary school children in K-2 or 4th-5th grades
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication abilities
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and delivering individualized and small group instruction tailored to students’ unique learning profiles
- Creating a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Modifying curriculum and instructional materials to meet IEP goals
- Tracking student progress, regularly updating documentation, and participating in IEP meetings
- Working with educational staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Encouraging social, emotional, and academic growth while fostering independence and self-advocacy
