This contract opportunity is tailored for a Special Education Teacher eager to cultivate inclusive learning environments and deliver transformative support to young learners. As part of a full-time schedule, you’ll shape student growth during school hours from 8:25 AM to 3:30 PM, with an extended day until 4:30 PM dedicated to meetings, collaboration, and professional responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for grades 3-5
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
- Familiarity with current best practices in special education, behavioral interventions, and differentiated instruction
- Ability to foster a positive classroom environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Experience working within elementary school settings, particularly with grades 3-5
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to student IEPs
- Regularly assess, monitor, and document student progress toward educational goals
- Modify curriculum and adapt teaching techniques to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Participate in team meetings, faculty trainings, and parent conferences until 4:30 PM as required by the contract
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to optimize student success
- Maintain timely and thorough educational records in compliance with school standards
