Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous classroom experience providing direct instruction to students with IEPs, preferably at the high school level
- Expertise in reading intervention strategies and differentiated instruction
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to inclusive and equitable practices in special education
- Ability to adapt lessons to accommodate various learning needs
- Availability for onsite work with no remote component
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver reading instruction minutes in alignment with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop and implement differentiated lessons and materials for diverse learning styles
- Monitor student progress, track data, and document outcomes according to IEP requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, serving as an advocate and resource for students and families
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and service providers
- Maintain organized records and stay current on best practices in special education
