Special Education Teacher | Newark, Delaware

Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This contract position focuses on case management and teaching special education social studies in a dynamic educational setting near Newark, DE. With a high school caseload and regular hours from approximately 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring students’ academic and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Active or pending Delaware Special Education certification required
- Experience delivering effective instruction to high school students with diverse learning needs
- Skilled in case management, including writing and maintaining IEPs
- Highly qualified to teach special education social studies
- Ability to work full-time on-site (35-40 hours per week)
- Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in social studies tailored to individual student needs
- Manage a caseload of high school students, collaborating with families, general education staff, and support service professionals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Maintain organized documentation and consistent communication with stakeholders
