Special Education Teacher in Nogales, AZ

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-specific or eligible for reciprocity)
- Previous experience teaching middle school students preferred, especially grades 6-8
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Solid understanding of resource math curriculum and best practices for differentiated instruction
- Proficient in collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 32 students, delivering targeted instruction in resource math
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique learning goals
- Track and document student progress, updating goals as necessary
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to foster student success
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment focused on both academic and social-emotional growth
