Special Education Teacher - Northfield, Vermont

This contract position offers the opportunity to act as a VOCO Special Education Case Manager/Coordinator, delivering impactful remote services to students and collaborating closely with a dedicated team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Special Educator license
- Previous experience as a Vermont virtual special education case manager
- Strong background in IEP development, compliance, and documentation
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to timelines and detail
- Highly effective communicator—both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and service providers
- Two professional supervisor references from virtual special education roles required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead case manager for approximately 45 high school students across two grades
- Coordinate, organize, and lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Draft, update, and monitor compliant IEP documents in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Maintain consistent weekly communication with staff and families to ensure cohesive student support
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and staff to implement necessary accommodations and modifications
- Monitor academic and behavioral data, using insights to guide student programming and interventions
This full-time, 37.5-hour per week contract begins August 28, 2026 and concludes June 18, 2027 (subject to school calendar adjustments). The caseload will be managed entirely remotely, making this an ideal opportunity for a skilled Vermont-licensed case manager who thrives in a virtual environment.
