This position begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the current school year, providing consistency and support to a diverse caseload of approximately 30 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential
- Experience or a strong interest in working with elementary or secondary students requiring special education services
- Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive instruction tailored to individual student needs and learning styles
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with students, families, and staff
- Employ a variety of teaching methods and behavioral interventions to encourage student growth and independence
- Assess and document student performance, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize achievement
- Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events as required
This assignment offers a regular Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00am to 2:30pm, affording work-life balance along with the rewarding experience of making a difference in students’ lives.
