Key Qualifications:
- Active SPED K-12 221 licensure required (mild/moderate or moderate/severe credential accepted)
- Previous experience in self-contained settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and team members
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom, designing effective instruction for elementary or middle school students (specific grade levels and caseload to be determined)
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related services providers, and families to ensure student progress
- Monitor, assess, and document student performance and development
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
- Cultivate a positive learning atmosphere that encourages independence and self-advocacy
