Currently, there are 21 Special Education positions available for the upcoming school year, with roles distributed as follows:
- Elementary School: 10 positions
- Middle School: 5 positions
- High School: 4 positions
- Bridges Program (all grade levels, alternative program for severe behaviors): 2 positions
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas teaching license in special education, corresponding to your intended teaching grade level
- Licensure must be fully active prior to placement
- Background in life skills, autism spectrum disorder, or behavior-focused classrooms
- Proven ability to adapt instruction for diverse student needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support for students with special needs
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and communication
- Participate in team meetings, staff professional development, and other school-based initiatives
