Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a full-time Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is based onsite for 37.5 hours per week, providing direct educational support and guidance to students requiring specialized instruction. You'll focus on middle and high school learners, helping them achieve academic and personal success in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Low Incidence SPED license for grades 6-12 is a must
- Prior experience working in a school environment or with students who have special needs is highly valued
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborative work with families, administrators, and other educators
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom and meeting student goals
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to a dedicated caseload of students (caseload specifics will be shared during the interview process)
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring all students receive appropriate supports
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive learning atmosphere
- Provide ongoing assessment and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and program effectiveness
- Participate in team meetings, staff development, and parent conferences as needed
