Make an impact supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Multiple contract opportunities are open for passionate, qualified educators in a dynamic school environment offering life skills, autism, or behavior-focused classroom settings. Assignments are available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as in alternative programs serving all grade bands with a focus on severe behaviors.
Openings:
- 10 Elementary School Special Education positions
- 5 Middle School Special Education positions
- 4 High School Special Education positions
- 2 “Bridges” positions (alternative program for students of all grades with significant behavioral needs)
Qualified candidates will:
- Hold an active Kansas State Special Education teaching license for the grade level they wish to teach (license must be current before consideration)
- Have classroom or practicum experience supporting students with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or significant behavioral needs
- Demonstrate adaptability and commitment to individualized student growth
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities
Key responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction in core and functional life skills, social skills, and academic content as appropriate
- Manage evidence-based behavioral support strategies in inclusive and specialized settings
- Collect data and adjust instructional plans based on student progress
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
This contract spans the full 2026-2027 school year (August 2026 through May 2027).
