Key Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Special Education Teaching License required
- Previous experience in a high school or secondary education special education setting preferred
- Strong ability to modify curriculum and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and educational teams
- Comfort working onsite and participating actively within the school community
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Deliver engaging instruction in both one-on-one and group settings, adapting materials to accommodate varied learning abilities
- Communicate student progress and challenges with families and allied professionals
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collect and analyze performance data to adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness of programming
