You'll play a pivotal role as an itinerant Behavioral Specialist, providing support across multiple districts during the academic year from August through May.
Your experience and background should include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
- Preferably, additional licensure in school psychology, social work, or school counseling
- Professional background as a school-based behavior specialist, BCBA, or similar
- Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Proficiency with evidence-based behavioral interventions and data-driven decision-making
- Strong collaborative skills for working alongside educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to coach and train school staff, and assist with crisis interventions
- Effective communication, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Travel between school districts to support students and staff
- Conduct FBAs and create individualized BIPs tailored to student needs
- Guide the implementation of behavioral interventions and progress monitoring
- Deliver coaching and ongoing support for teachers and paraprofessionals
- Facilitate collaboration among school teams, families, and external resources
- Lead and participate in crisis intervention as needed
- Promote inclusion and student success through a compassionate, research-based approach
