Special Education Teacher - Orange Park, Florida

Step into an impactful role supporting students in a self-contained classroom for students with exceptionalities. This full-time contract opportunity begins in early August, offering you the chance to shape young learners’ lives through tenacity, creativity, and expertise in special education.
You’ll lead dynamic lessons and interventions, primarily with elementary-aged children, in an environment where your voice matters. With a single school placement, you’ll build lasting relationships with students and collaborate closely with supportive staff. This role is entirely on-site, ensuring an engaged presence in the classroom and school community.
What we’re seeking:
- Active Florida ESE certification
- General Education certification (K-6 or PK-3)
- Prior experience in a self-contained special education environment
- Background with varying learning abilities and exceptionalities
- Organized, adaptable, and compassionate classroom leader
- Willingness to complete time-sensitive fingerprinting and credentialing processes
Duties and responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized educational plans
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom atmosphere
- Use evidence-based teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student development
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and data collection
- Maintain compliance with all local and state education policies
You’ll work 35 hours per week during the school year calendar, making a daily difference for your students. Compensation will be paid at the rate of $68 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
