Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting elementary students in a self-contained ESE classroom. This on-site, contract position offers a dedicated assignment at a single campus, primarily serving students with diverse learning needs in the North West region of Jacksonville, FL. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with a supportive school environment from August 3rd, 2026, through May 28th, 2027, working 35 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida ESE certification AND K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required
- Previous experience leading self-contained special education classrooms essential
- Strong communication skills and adaptability with varying learning levels and exceptionalities
- Must complete fingerprinting requirements; prior Florida school district prints may be verified for validity through the AHCA Clearinghouse
- Willingness to complete an internal eligibility screening and a virtual prescreen interview
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic instruction and social-emotional support in a self-contained setting
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans and accommodations for students with exceptionalities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to ensure student progress and well-being
- Maintain accurate records and prepare required documentation for IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom community focused on growth, achievement, and respect
