Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active PEL (Professional Educator License) with LBS1 endorsement required
- Experience working with 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students
- Background with non-verbal students and familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices highly preferred
- Comfortable working in an environment where self-harm, property destruction, elopement, and aggression may occur
- Strong communication, adaptability, and crisis management skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide specially designed instruction and support for diverse learners within a 3rd–6th grade classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting materials and teaching approaches
- Effectively use AAC devices and other tools with non-verbal students
- Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and residential staff to ensure holistic student care
- Maintain accurate records, data, and progress reports for each student
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment at all times
This full-time, onsite contract offers $38-48 per hour and the chance to work shoulder to shoulder with a passionate team of educators and clinical professionals, all dedicated to making a difference for students needing the highest level of support.
