What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or ability to obtain one
- Experience (or strong knowledge) working with K-6th grade students in a special education setting
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs
- Skill in managing classrooms and differentiating instruction to accommodate a range of abilities
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers
- Organizational strengths for maintaining thorough student records and documentation
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct services and specialized instruction to elementary students with various learning needs
- Developing, documenting, and updating IEPs in partnership with families and school staff
- Leading and participating in IEP meetings
- Collaborating with general education teachers and related professionals to create inclusive learning experiences
- Using effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and productive environment
- Monitoring, documenting, and communicating student progress toward IEP goals
