Available positions:
- 2 Elementary Inclusion (Grades K-5)
- 1 Elementary Self-Contained (Grades K-5)
- 1 Middle School Inclusion (Grades 6-8)
All roles are full-time, with 37.5 hours per week and dedicated para support provided to assist with classroom success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Virginia)
- Previous experience working in special education settings preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to students' needs
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
