You will serve as a Special Education Teacher in a resource capacity, managing a manageable caseload and collaborating with other educators and support staff to foster student growth and achievement.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in elementary or middle school settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and adaptive classroom atmosphere
- Passion for supporting students with varied learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Manage a resource caseload of approximately 30-37 students, providing specialized instruction and support
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and regularly communicate with families
- Engage in professional development and stay current with best practices in special education
- Create a nurturing learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes student success
