What’s Needed:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for the grade levels assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience writing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and adaptive teaching skills
- Effective communication abilities for engaging with students, families, and staff
- Dedication to creating positive, inclusive classroom environments
- Ability to organize, document, and monitor caseloads efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and differentiated support for resource students in elementary and/or middle school settings
- Manage caseloads ranging from 30 to 37 students, depending on school placement
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) according to guidelines
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to coordinate instructional strategies and supports
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events
- Foster a welcoming and motivating learning environment for all students
