Special Education Teacher in Phoenix, AZ

Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Arizona Special Education certificate required
- Active (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Background or experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly at the high school level
- Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Strong communication and organizational skills to liaise effectively with students, families, and support staff
- Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and adaptive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support for high school students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support
- Track and document students’ progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and educational team members
- Maintain a proactive, positive approach in addressing classroom management and behavioral concerns
- Uphold all relevant state and school policies governing special education services
