This contract opportunity is designed for dedicated Special Education Teachers who are passionate about empowering diverse learners through effective support and innovative instruction.
You'll be on-site, shaping the lives of students across a variety of programs: from Inclusion/SUCCESS classrooms and Practical Skills instruction to the CBT Life Skills curriculum, the STRIVE autism program, and self-contained environments. Your expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs will be highly valued, and you'll play a key role in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Arizona secondary teaching license (required)
- Active K-12 Special Education Certificate (required)
- Current IVP fingerprint clearance card (required)
- Experience in high school special education settings, including emotional disabilities and behavior support
- Skilled in developing, writing, and implementing IEPs
- Background working with students from varied backgrounds and learning styles
- Comfort and enthusiasm for on-site collaboration within a school community
- Required to attend CIE training July 21-24 (prior to the school year)
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction across multiple special education programs, including life and practical skills, autism support, and behavioral/self-contained classrooms
- Provide individualized interventions and positive behavioral support
- Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, families, and support services to promote student success
- Regularly review and update IEP documentation in accordance with student progress and state requirements
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for all learners
