Make a direct impact on students’ lives by supporting diverse learners as a Special Education Teacher in a well-resourced, full-time contract position. Work onsite in a supportive educational environment, assisting students in substantially separate classrooms, including both a K-1st grade and a 3rd-5th grade room. The classrooms serve students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities; some are non-verbal or on the autism spectrum, and robust support—including RBTs—is available.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities
- Skilled in specially designed instruction; experience with applied behavior analysis preferred
- Comfort providing or directing toileting support as needed
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Previous work with non-verbal and spectrum students is highly advantageous
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and RBTs to ensure all classroom needs are met
- Implement behavioral and instructional strategies based on student needs
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Manage documentation and reporting consistent with district requirements
- Build trusting relationships with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
