A contract opportunity is now available for skilled Special Education Teachers to join substantially separate classrooms serving students in K-1st and 3rd-5th grades. This is an onsite role, ideal for educators ready to bring expertise in individualized instruction and behavioral strategies to a dynamic team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education licensure (or eligibility) for the state of Massachusetts
- Experience working with students who have severe cognitive and physical disabilities
- Familiarity with supporting non-verbal learners and those with ASD
- Strong background in specially designed instruction; proven ability to tailor lessons and support plans
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience is preferred
- Comfortable providing and overseeing toileting support as needed
- Positive, collaborative attitude in multidisciplinary settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with significant needs in K-1 or 3-5 classrooms
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and, on occasion, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
- Develop and implement IEPs consistent with district and state requirements
- Use data-driven approaches and ABA principles to advance student goals
- Provide guidance and support with daily living skills including toileting
- Foster inclusive, structured, and nurturing classroom routines
- Communicate consistently with families and stakeholders to celebrate student progress
