Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license from the Rhode Island Department of Education for the appropriate grade level (Secondary).
- Certified in, or willing to complete within one year, the Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency to meet Right to Read Act requirements.
- Previous experience working with students who have Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or severe behavioral challenges is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction in a self-contained or sub-separate high school classroom.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support individualized learning plans.
- Employ evidence-based strategies for classroom management and behavioral interventions.
