In this position, you will work 12.5 hours per week, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., assisting with an overload in a 7th-grade classroom. Flexibility is offered for candidates seeking full-time work, as there is potential to expand the schedule. The role begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience within middle school settings preferred
- Background in reading and language arts instruction
- Ability to manage an IEP caseload and adapt lessons to diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Readiness to start quickly for the remainder of the academic year
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized reading/language arts instruction to 7th grade students
- Manage a caseload of 9 students, implementing IEP goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for seamless student services
- Track and report on student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families
