What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Alabama SPED licensure (verification required)
- Experience working with students diagnosed with autism and/or language-based challenges highly preferred
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction abilities
- Adaptability to collaborate with paraprofessionals (3-5 per classroom, depending on location)
- Excellent communication skills with staff, students, and families
- Positive attitude, patience, and a team-first mindset
Your Role Will Include:
- Designing and implementing customized lesson plans and behavioral supports for self-contained language/autism units (grades K-5 or 3-5)
- Creating a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring every student’s needs are addressed
- Collaborating closely with paraprofessionals, service providers, and administrative staff
- Monitoring and documenting student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting strategies as needed
- Communicating proactively with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom activities
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to continuous program improvement
