We’re currently looking for a **Special Education Teacher** to join an elementary school in **Providence, Rhode Island**. This opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping students overcome learning challenges, develop new skills, and feel successful in the classroom.
You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside teachers and school professionals while providing individualized support tailored to each student's unique needs.
Your Role
As the Special Education Teacher, you will:
* Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs
* Develop engaging lessons and activities that support a variety of learning styles
* Implement and monitor students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
* Track academic and behavioral progress and adjust instruction when needed
* Create a structured, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
* Collaborate with general education teachers and related service professionals
* Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress to families and team members
* Maintain accurate student records and required documentation
* Encourage students to build confidence, independence, and academic skills
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
* Valid Rhode Island teaching certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain appropriate certification
* Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
* Elementary-level experience is a plus
* Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team
* Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
