Make a meaningful impact working as an in-person Special Education Teacher supporting students who need Extra Support Needs (ESN) in a moderate/severe (M/S) classroom environment. This full-time, full school year (FSY) contract role is located near Redwood Valley, CA, and may involve instructing at the middle school or transition level, depending on program needs. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team, foster an inclusive environment, and help each student reach their potential.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential
- Experience with moderate/severe disabilities (ESN M/S) preferred
- Background in middle school or transition programs beneficial
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to individualize instruction and create engaging, adaptive lesson plans
- Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person instruction and support to students with moderate/severe disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work with support staff, therapists, and other educators to deliver coordinated services
- Adapt curriculum and modify classroom materials to meet the unique needs of each student
- Encourage student growth in both academic and life skills
- Communicate effectively with families and team members regarding student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and school-based professional development
