Special Education Teacher | Renton, Washington

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Washington State Special Education teaching license and ESA certificate (must provide verification)
- Minimum of 5 years of direct special education teaching experience, ideally including transition services for young adults
- Strong understanding of IEP development, transition planning, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Previous experience in a school environment required—only candidates with a robust background will be considered
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized transition IEPs
- Facilitate curriculum targeting vocational, life, and social skills
- Foster partnerships with families, outside agencies, and school teams to support holistic transition plans
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and make data-driven program decisions
- Create a supportive, inclusive onsite classroom tailored to diverse learning needs
